dog, jog, fog, bog, cog, hog, +log.
Rosalyn's back in town and is camping at my neighbor Brett's place. He used to tutor Brett's son when he was studying for his British O level exams..
Went to see the Pirates of > I can never remember the name< yesterday, a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta..Gilbert and Sullivan ain't really my thang..
Last night watched Night of the Living Dead with Pippo and then dreamt about reading my own obituary, I'd hung myself.
My shoulder is better, thank goodness, but I've had the onslaught of a head cold for the last few days.
I'm happy because friends of my Mom and Stepdad asked me to find them a decent place to stay in Rome for May. They made a reservation at the same place my cousins and also Saralynn and hubby stayed at when they visited Rome. All through the website and internet, so I didn't have to do any running around. YAY.
I'm also happy because none of the blogs I read have any mention of tomorrow being Valentine's day.
I'll play unfairly and quote what Gilli wrote at the age of six which hangs in our entryway; " L'amore e la nostra vita e é anche il nostro bene, amore é tutto." This Christmas I found in my stocking the following Gilli scritta; " Amor es nostrum dominus et nostrum deus."
FINALLY the Pope has come out and said that God is Love. Unfortunately he's quite determinedly attempting to isolate what can and can't be love.
Way back when Gils was studying catechism for her first communion we asked the priest, Father Mauro, if God was Love, and he answered, " If God wasn't love, would we need to confess?" This answer confused us quite a bit. The Pope says it is important to know that God IS Love because in today's world God means hate and threats and war.
As long as God doesn't mean George Bush, I think I'm ok.
I visited Rosalyn a bit yesterday and he had been paging through a book called 'The Creative Mind' which begins by calling for simplicity in a most complicated way. I told him I could not major in love, no school offers a Bachelors, Masters or Phd program specifically for Love Majors. We punched Love onto the subject line of various Harvard study departments and sadly, hardly any of them offered anything that even contained love. There were one or two Lit courses that mentioned it--and a poetry class. Slim pickings for lovers, says I.
Friends, readers, blog addicts...
may your hearts be blessed with a new day of joy, warmth and kindness.
