Maestro was tossing some old 'spartiti' (music score books) out and he saved a bunch of 'em to toss my way..
Some lyrics have been translated into Italian; B. Bacherach's "Gocce di pioggia su di me" is literal enough BUT how did 'Everybody's out of town' become 'Un'ora al caffé'?
When the Monkee's song, ' I thought love was only true in fairy tales...., then I saw her face, now I'm a believer..." was translated,
'I'm a believer' became 'Sono un bugiardo'!> (I'm a liar!).
Think I'll have to google George Shearing and Roger Williams to see what they're about..
lots of Elvis books and some gospel/spirituals...anyone ever heard of a musical called 'Up with the people'?

I'm THRILLED it's Friday even though it's grey and rainy. Grey and rainy is great excuse to hunt down chord inversions for easy fingerings.

Gil reprimanded me this morning for not sewing the button on her jacket the last two days. She also lectured me about not bossing her around!
