Happy birthday Uncle Lewis!
Menagia, what a morning...
Woke up at six to get Gil to the train station by seven, so that she could participate in a field trip her Latin class is taking. I forgot to bring my cell phone. The back of my car was already loaded with a huge bag of Pippo's stuff that had been at my house, a bag of extra blankets from his house that had to be brought to his Mom's, and a bag of Italian books I'd had that his Mom might want. So I drove to Pippo's, parked and went to get a cappucino. I bought a booklet of Italian crossword puzzles ( I'm quite proud at being able to do some words of some puzzles in Italian), and went to a sunny bench in Villa Pamphili and did all the words I could. At 8:40 I brought a cappucino to Pippo's house for him. He was sleeping so I let him sleep another hour. He heard me in the other room and asked me what I was doing. I was playing with his collection of toy cars. I told him that I'd brought him a cappucino, I put two sugars in it, as asked, and he drank it. He had some other crossword books on his bed so I started doing them to. He said that was good, he'd rest, I'd do crossword puzzles..
After awhile I was tired of spending all morning doing crossword puzzles and his eyes were closed again, I said," I have to do something.", and " I'll go, I shouldn't have come over this morning."
He says, " I should feel guilty for just waking up? (he'd been 'up' 40+ minutes at that point)- che cazzo vuoi!! "etc etc etc. Lots of anger and yelling at me. I didn't yell, I just walked back to the park and sat on a tree stump. Tried to not shake. Pippo's anger scares me in the morning. Tried to not cry, or atleast to hold back from creating a new park swamp.
Then I delivered the books to his Mom's house, she wasn't home (Thank God).
Later Pippo called me, but I didn't have my phone until I got home. I called him back. He was still angry at me.
I called him a couple of times, everytime his anger getting progressively worse. Sent him a bunch of messages, too.
BECAUSE I'd subletted my apartment for June and July before the passport fiasco we'd agreed that I'd stay at his place for June until Gil and I depart togethor, but now I don't think that will be a good thing.
I think I'll have to go back to the garden in Ischia for June. Getting from there to the Rome airport won't be breezy but I've had it worse.
