Walking with a friend through an old and pretty tall tree'd neighborhood I see that there is a house for sale sign on a side street and say, "Let's go check it out!"
We gaze up at an incredibly large two floor victorian style house, it really is immense, and empty. I know that it's empty because the entire place is made of glass. One arm of the house has no floor in the middle, it goes from the basement to the ceilng of the second floor with nothing inbetween.
The ground of that room has several concrete holes, each big enough to fit an entire car into. I'm told by the real estate agent, who doesn't seem very interested or enthusiastic about the place, that what's in that room is a car wash which the previous owners put in.
A man who I seem to recall having seen before, but can't remember where, stops by to look at the property as well. He has a nice calm face with a beard, looks like a school counselour or something. After having looked at the facade of the house which consists of one huge molded into curved very thick piece of glass, we enter the place. Upstairs has very fancy built-in bunkbeds, they have fabric covered headboards and footboards. It was difficult to assess what they were at first, because they didn't resemble average bunkbeds.
In the garage, the man visitor points out a rare remaining item, a room divider, one of those three part foldable kinds, that has signatures of friends of the previous owner scrawled all over it. Most of them are simple signatures made with felt tip perma marker; Johnney, Tom, Fred, Al...but every once and a while there is a more elaborate one, Jack-the weasel, or Frank-the butcher...I'm told that these are great historical evidence because previous owner was a big mafia guy and these were all his pals who visited- he collected their signatures there like highschool students do in their yearbooks.
