I like Karma
and yet another lovely Roman Spring day, instead of the park, Rosalyn and I opted for a tram ride to the center to putz. We putzed around looking at leather goods and homemade papers, and agreed that Italians do lights infinitly better than average USA. After I'd downed a heart palpitating granita di caffé w/cream from Tazza d'Oro we sat at the Campo for mini bruschettas w/ sundried maters, artichokes, gorgonzola, pinenuts. a beer and a coke.
Then we indulged our senses by visiting the 'Lush' store.
'Karma' smell is composed of essential oils of Patchouli, orange, lavender, pine, lemongrass, elemi (whatever THAT is, bot.> Canarium commune), gardenia, and citronella. Makes me feel like a walking garden. I didn't buy the handmade perfumed soap but opted for a cocoa butter/ Karitè butter massage bar with jojoba, cinnamon, and peppermint, and hard little scrub beans. Ros got a foot pumice soap, with two kinds of mint oils and tagete (whatever THAT is? bot;> Tagetes glandulifera).
I think I'm going to have to return there before ABQ to sample Dream Cream; Oat oil, rosewater, olive oil, cocoa butter, rose oil, cammomile oil, tea tree oil and lavender oil whipped together.
We were pleased as punch to spend a day walking about to return to the hood with postcards, stamps and bath goodies, smelling our anointed selves all the while. We talked about preferring smelling like gardens to smelling like fresh baked sweet rolls or chocolate cakes.
Ros thought it was cute and funny that I'd once had a boyfriend who loved nature smells so much that he'd worn a hollow Darth Vader lollipop cover around his neck in Spring which he'd fill with tangerine petals, Eucalyptus buds, Laurel leaves etc.
SMELL is so animal--yay.
